When you fill out the W4 you need to know how you will file and how much est. AGI you will have. MFJ is a different w/hold than MFS. Single is just that single . You either claim yourself or 0. You can claim MFJ claiming single. It's not cut and dry talk with your payroll clerk to find out. also the % used the last two years will not be use 2011 unless IRS changes their mind. If you want a refund have the max with held if you want to break even then let your payroll clerk help you.

    If unmarried:

If you want to be sure not to owe, then claim 1. If you want to come very close one way or the other, claim 2.
