    what is the Hamrabi Code

    I seem to remember it having been mentioned in a criminal justice class I took some years ago. If I remember right, it was sort of a code of law around 2,500 to 3,000 years ago in the Middle East Region, which is known for being the cradle of civilization. I believe the specific origin of it was a place called Sumatra, or something like that. I took the class over twenty years ago, so you really have to forgive me if I am wrong in any way...as I'm doing good to remember as much as I am. Hope this helps.
