    Win or lose, candidates usually spend it all, including lots of their own.

    I would think it makes no difference win or lose.  I do imagine though it will go into the party general fund. Nobody takes it home with them if that's your concern.  Romney lost the last election here in the USA, I would think that if anything was left it went right into the Republican party's general fund. (If there was anything left.)
