    can a king take part in an political election

    Not in the UK they can't,  although the politicians are still answerable to the Queen or King . The Prime Minister has to report to the Queen once a week, to keep her informed of what's going on. She has no power over them expect if there is no majority after an election,  when she can instruct the party with the mist votes to for a government,  or call anther election.  It's all a bit odd really, but that's  our system. 

    Do you mean, must a king be elected, or is a king allowed to vote in an election for some other official(s)? 

    I imagine it depends on the nation he is king of. Did you have a nation in mind?
