There could be several reasons for that message. If you are operating your printer wireless it could be you have to reset your wireless router.
Open up your control panel and look for printers. Open it up and check to see if your printer software is still there or is it deleted. Sometimes obtaining a Trojan can delete your printer software. I just reinstalled three HP printers for customers this week who had the software for their printers deleted.
