      What kind of information are  you referring to? You say it’s personal but a lot of times, company’s need that info to protect YOU. To interfere with hacking and the such……….

        Anytime you are uncomfortable with the information someone says they need, don't go there. Trust your instincts.  I do very little internet business, and would rather write checks and put a stamp on an envelope than pay a bill on a website. Call me old-fashioned, suspicious, or whatever you want, but my account numbers and mother's maiden name aren't anyone else's business.
