      I do not see a lie here unless they are still living with their spouse. A great many people are separated from their spouse but remain married to them. They live in separate homes and live separate lives. Usually because they can not afford to get divorced. That's what being separated is.

        If it were me and someone lied to me about that as if in you are referring to someone you are dating then I would fast trac him/her back out of my life period.  Because if you have no trust in any type relationship then you have nothing.
