how do we know he meant southport united kingdom CB

Terry I typed in to my search bar what is written in the question and the above map from Australia to Southport UK is what popped up for me.
If I would have seen there was a Southport in Australia than I would have put this as my answer because it's a heck of a lot closer and more than likely this is where this individual who asked this question is referring to.
This is why I'm glad there are no rules about a question on aka being answered by more than one person.
It's a big ole world out there. :)
