      Put several pennies in a transparent plastic bag filled with water.  Hang the bag on windows.  The reflection of sunray on the pennies in the water will scare flies away.  A number of restauants/stores use this method.

        One fun way is to turn your air conditioning on to a really cold temp, once your house is cold the flies will be moving/flying very slow. Then you can just take your vacuum and suck 'em up.
