      Goofy isn't a dog.  He's a really, really unattractive guy.  His mom took medications that produced  those "birth defects".  It was the 50's.

                  because it's a cartoon, and a comic strip. Why does a mouse.....Mickey,.......have a dog.......Pluto .......for a pet ?

                    Pluto is a "real" dog and everyone knows dogs do not talk.


                    Goofy on the other hand is some silly attempt at humour.
