It sounds like your tank is oval or round in shape, also known as a bowfront tank. To calculate the gallons you need one addition measurement. You have the diameter at 9". Is this the widest diameter or the smallest? Which ever it is you need both to get the closest approximation of how many gallons it will hold as well as the the depth which you have listed at 48" deep.
