    For the Experienced Worker
If you are experienced member of the work force, then 10 to 15 years of work history is expected. This gives potential employers a broad sense of your career goals, dependability and professional tendencies.

    For the Less Experienced Worker
Although 10 to 15 years of work history might be the ideal, many younger job applicants will not have that kind of extensive work past. In that case, use a comprehensive work history, whether it is three or eight years, and demonstrate the experience you have. If you are filling out a prepared job application, then follow any specific guidelines contained on the application concerning how far back to go in your work history.

    Bottom Line
If you have more than 15 years of work experience, then document your last 10 to 15 years on your resume. If you have less than 10 years, then include all the work experience you have.
