In the past I have used coca cola to clean my car battery and it worked well. I'm sure you'll receive lots of tips from the aka forum (at least I hope you will).

I heard that theory about Coke cleaning batteries and chrome for Yyyeeaaarrrssss. I tried it on chrome on my 70 Nova, in the 70s, but it didn't take it off too good.But, if it cleans batteries, imagine what it does to your stomach. !
