Because they refer to private things, unclean things or refer to GOD in a bad way.

bad words are bad words because they are used to make an indecent remark on someone or something, they are used when someone is angry, in rage, depression, disagreement, in hate, all the negative situations which send us to the path of the devil, that make us hate each other instead of loving each other, they spray fuel on an open fire, they increase hate.
Also they are used because some people are just too dumb to find another word to describe something, situation or someone. they just find swearing easier, they're like a melody in their brain.
see that's another factor as to why bad words are bad. because they rotten the brain as well. :)

The real definition of the "f" word is not offensive by definition. Neither is the "c" word. The later defines a female under the age of 12. The "f" word was a directive given to soldiers after a siege.
