    When using the small 3 inch cones Machine embroidery thread do take off the plastic ring on top?

    I am using the thread for the top of the machine and the thread getscaught in/around the small ptastic ring on the top of the cone

      I’ve hunted and hunted but I can’t say for sure if you should remove it. I’d say removing would increase the chances of thread slippage and knotting.  This site may help you:  http://www.superiorthreads.com/education/spools-verse-cones/
