    The 14th Amendment:

    The 14th amendment was enacted in 1868, after the Civil War.
    It secures the equal rights, citizenship, due process of law, and equal protections to all former slaves and their descendants.
    It requires each and every state to provide equal protection to all of the citizens of that state.
    It has been used, in court, to aid in removing racial segregation, and a few more issues.
