Those are slugs, your berry patch is probably nice and damp and that's where slugs like to live. There are many ways to combat slugs, use a shall dish with beer, replace the beer as the slugs fall in and drown, copper flashing cut into strips and set along the sides of the beds, diatomaceous earth sprinkled on the berry plants (rather expensive method), or a commercial slug pellet from any department stores or home improvement stores.
