Sounds like you frightened her by putting her up so high,there is more safer games to play that don't require scaring the child.

My son in law used to do that with my grand-daughter when she was little,With One hand!

Frankly it pissed me off as a stupid, dangerous thing to do.

She didn't like it either.

Your 7 month old was probably scared to death.

small kids like to cling to people. dont put her up so high. they need to be close to bodies.

Hi fox. For one I don't think she was getting two much feedback from the ceiling and she did not know how to respond to something like a ceiling. Think about if you were staring at something like a ceiling and did not know what it was and you had not learned what to do. It might scare you. I think things that your baby can play with likes toys would be more engaging to her and not as frighting to her. Even reading her a story would probably be fun to her. A story has your voice, maybe pictures, pages turning. Lot's of interesting things she can react to. A dead wall. Well.

Buy a mobile.  That is what should be up at the ceiling.  Babies love mobiles.

It was probably scary when you lifted her up and made her head touch the ceiling. Now, she doesn't want any part of it. Different kids are scared of different things. My brother used to be deathly scared of clowns
