Does a fine have to be paid before you can be released from jail?
Spouse serving 4 days in CT county jail for DUI (second offense). Lawyer told judge spouse needed to pay fine. Judge responded that the marshall would take my spouse to pay the fine.
Spouse was taken directly to county jail. His status on the internet says "max release date 8/8/11" and "detained -hold for fine". Will he be kept at the jail until someone pays the fine at the court (jail and court are in two different towns)?
