The church. The bible came just over 1000 years after Christ's death. I'm not Christian and even I know this.

Sorry I go your name wrong. It was hand writen (old testament) in Greek and New testament in Hebrew 300 AD Much later it was it was translate to latin by monks which took 3 years to translate and write. At that time only the churchs has the bible. 1. it was hand writen 2. the only people who knew how to read were people of high position. The poor would go to church to hear the word of God (Bible). The langage most common on those days was latin. But since the question had to do with pass history. If you had stated publish instead of "it came after a 1000 years after Christ Death" which make it not a true statement. Around or after 400 DC the Christian Church a hand written bible which they would read to the people who came to church. It true the Christ is the Church, but so are we. Christ is the Root and we are the branches.
It is one thing I am very greatful and I know we all are is that although we are sinners, God loves us so much that he gave his only son. My favorerate bible verse is John 3:16, which since I became christain. I hope this does not both you regarding history. I love history and I want to live the word, but I want to learn about our history.

You have part of the answer correct. The Church came first. But you are incorrect when the bible came to be write. Around 70 -200 AD books of matthew, mark, luke and john were write, as well as the other books, Around 300 AD the New Testament was begining to be compile by the Bishops through prayers and guidence of the holy Spirit. The Old Testament was already on from forms of scrolls, which were copied on paper to form the old testament in a form of a Book together with the New Testment it was the complete Bible, It took serveral years since in those days everything was hand written. There more to this, but this will let you know the what the bible was compiled.

If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
Church meaning Christ.
