    Poor connection, bad wire or the speaker is shot.

    sounds like you got a blown speaker, maybe.if so . i've had much success using enamel finger nail polish to mend the tear in the speaker, clean with a q tip dipped in rubbing alcohol and  apply polish like glue!

    60 cycle hum is usually from the power supply and is a capacitor that has become electrically conductive. The only people I know who repair electronic equipment any more are hobbyists. You could study electrical and electronic repair for your own benefit and interest , other than that if your amplifier cost less than $1000.00 buy a new one.
