Does it annoy you, when you hear, "Thank God" repeatedly?
    Volcane

Sometimes, especially when it implies that we have no control over our lives.
In my opinion that's a dangerous thought because it takes the responsibility of people's lives off their hands.

God doesn't help those who don't help themselves, right?

What does that have to with saying, Thank God?
    Volcane

For some people thanking someone for something means that they owe it to him, not to themselves.
"Thank God I got this job"

When most people are thanking someone for something, they are expressing appreciation and gratitude for the deed that was done.

    Exactly.

Volcane, if they prayed about getting the job, then yes, it does make sense for them to say, '' Thank God I got this job '' They are thanking God, so leave them alone

It's just one of those things people do, "Thank God" for every blessing He has given to us.

Yes Pamela I agree thanks :-)

God is at work everyday so why not thank him..........

It's better than all these people on TV, movies, books, articles, and here who say  '' OMG ''  ......all the time, b/c saying that breaks the 3rd commandent-----Thou shall NOT take my name in vain.  It offends God when you say  '' Oh , my God !! ''  all the time.  But, yes, I do say ' ' Thank God ' ' often, b/c it's when I feel devine intervention was there, adn God led someone to help me or my loved one. Or, it''s when circumstances coincidentally fell into place to help a serious problem in my life... . . . . . . I say Thank God !   b/c I think He had a hand in it   :-)

I say to them “You’re welcome.” Whenever they say “Thank God" in my presence I say “You’re welcome"…..God is alive and well within me too.

    You're not God,Robert, so don't say, '' You're welcome ''

God is in everything so why not say that?

In my opinion...we never could thank him enough!!He's amazing!! Something tells me he never gets tired of hearing it,it just proves he did not die in vain.:)

I have no prob, I often Thank God, why not.

    I echo with Halleluia.

nothing wrong with thanking god as long as you really mean it?
