I'm assuming your talking about a NIKON COOLPIX?
This model comes with a rechargeable battery that looks like a store bought 9volt battery. Depending on your model Camera you should be able to slide open a side panel on the camera and take the battery out for recharging. Repeat the procedure to reinstall it after its charged.
If this doesn't help try going to www.nikon.com and look up your camera model for further info.
