Asaoka came up with the new model, simply called the Kurono 34mm, by combining modern accuracy, water resistance, and robustness with his favorite vintage watch aesthetics. I had the link pleasure of visiting his atelier link in the Bunky? district link some time ago and I clearly remember seeing a handful of vintage watches resting in a small showcase beside the CNC machines. There's no doubt he's a vintage watch enthusiast.

On wrist the Deepstar II is a delight and its jewel-like impression is matched by very wearable proportions and excellent comfort. It hugs the wrist and feels very similar in presence to the 36mm vintage Silvana Skin Diver link I own. With a domed crystal and sloped bezel the Deepstar II doesn't feel link as though it's 13mm thick and its curved lugs link ensure it sits flatly on my 7-inch wrist.
