Yes. Most fibroids do not cause any symptoms and therefore do not need to be treated. If symptoms do exist they could get worse as the fibroids enlarge until such time as they shrink following the menopause. In these cases treatment should be considered.

Depends on the size and the location of the fibroid. Most women have it but not every has symptoms so they don't know it. If it's causing problems, like pain and heavy periods, you should get medical attention. it can cause pain and anemia.
You have many options to treat them. There are surgeries to just remove fibroids, uterine ablation, uterine embolization, or sometimes simple hormone medicines, like birth control or progesterone. If the patient is older, a lot of doctors will just recommend hysterectomy. that should be the last resort. Know your options, do research, ask around, get second opinions...
