I don't think they exist today as they were in medival times if they are still around they surely are secretive or maybe they branched out into something by another name Good question

No proof. Just a husband... not here right now or I'd give you his reference book title... who is interested in that sort of history. It's a branch of military history, his real passion, but he has talked about them. They date way back... BC, but they were involved with the Vatican at one point so they certainly lasted quite a while, and power like that tends to go on.
