To add buttons to your Safari Toolbar, right click the toolbar (the grey where the address bar is, and the back/forward nav buttons are supposed to be). A 'Customize Toolbar' link will appear. Click that link and a window with all the options will appear for you to add or remove what you'd like. The back button is there. Add that to your tool bar. Good luck!
