    3.23 gears vs 3.42

    I'm wanting to change gears on my 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. The stock gears are 2.41 and am wanting to go to 3.23 or 3.42.The transmission is a 3 speed auto turbo 350 with the 403 Olds engine.I'm leaning more to the 3.23's just because its not to much of a jump in rpm's.The performance would be nice but I don't want to hamper the gas mileage to much
