Your GE Profile side-by-side refrigerator's motor runs longer than older refrigerator motors. This is normal, especially if you have just installed it or added a lot of food. Profile motors have to cool a larger area than older refrigerators, and they will turn on and off at random. If the motor is running more than usual, verify that the doors are completely closed and check that the set point isn't extremely low. If so, the motor is running to try and keep up with the cooling demands. If the refrigerator is very cold but the motor won't turn off, you may have a problem with the thermostat. Contact a GE service technician.
