    which gear ratio is better for a 1979 Poniac Trans Am 3.23 or 3.42

    I would like to have alittle bit more performance with out hurting the gas mileage.My original gerar where 2.41's. I'm alittle worried about the rpm increase, but I do have the Olds 403 engine

      depends on what type of transmission ? very little differance in those two not worth the work to change.
