I think all the above answer are incorrect.
There are 12 eggs in a dozen or a dozen consists of 12 but no amount of eggs can MAKE a dozen eggs or anything else. Eggs just sit there doing what eggs do best nothing.
A cook can make something using eggs but the eggs can`t make anything, well a bad smell if left too long.
Of course if the eggs are fertile, the ones you get at the shop are not fertile, the egg could produce a chicken.
