My refrigerator did the same thing. The freezing unit totally froze, hence, the whole fridge would not get cold. The repairman simply unplugged the refrigerator, remove the panel on the back and used a hair dryer to defrost the whole mechanism. Once, thawed, it' functional again.
Try it. It may work for you too.
