Art is the visual expression of emotion. An artist can produce a work allows someone to experience the appreciation of it's emotional content. For example, a beatiful landscape may elicit a peaceful feeling or contentment, a portrait may draw out an appreciation of it's beauty, even a painting of a battle my evoke emotions of horror or desire for valor. It's this way for all art whether it's a sculpture or even the hard to explain abstract. Art speaks to people in different ways, enjoy it.
