    Noun: The trigonometric function that is equal to the ratio of the side opposite a given angle (in a right triangle) to the hypotenuse.

    Sine is the ratio of perpendicular to the hypotenuse for a right angled triangle


    i.e. sine abbreviated as sin = perpendicular [p] / hypotenuse [h]


    Where, perpendicular = side opposite to the reference angle


    and hypotenuse = side opposite to the right angle
