In the case of Tourbillion No. 2, two extra springs lock the going train when the link power of the mainspring has been fully spent, but once the mainspring is wound, the gear train moves and unlocks the mechanism, releasing the balance spring. Surprisingly, Klings didn't patent the mechanism. When the watch was sold directly from Klings in 2016, it came with the technical link drawings he link made for the mechanism, drawings that also come with this lot from Phillips, alongside box and papers, of course.
