Is it legal for a company to reduce the pay to bartenders/bussers and mandatorily require servers to tip share to make up their pay?
The company I work for reduced the hourly rate for bartenders and bussers and then required a mandatory tip share ( a percentage of our total food sales) from the servers to make up the rest of their pay. That doesnt seem right to me. The bartender shouldnt have a cut from my total food sales, only bar sales. What do you think?

As an Aussie I never really understood the system of tipping. The practice is virtually non existant in this country. The boss pays the staff & the menu prices cover that cost.
It seems to me your boss is only cashing in on your tips. What a mean scum bag.
Can you find work elsewhere? :)
