I dont know the answer to your question,, but would it be a good idea, to keep your stock holdings until the crisis is over, and prices start going up again.

No that's the worst thing you could do. The key to making money in the stock market is to be patient. It's really more of a long term investment compared to a get rich quick sceme. You must consider all aspects of your investment, the US is a good investment, look at their past history. I'm sure in time things will get much better.

If I were to suggest an investment for anyone it would be in precious metals.

Depends were your money is. Gold will hit near $2400.00/OZ by years end.

I think it depends on your age if you have the time left to stick it out.. fluctuations now are not favorable, in time yes, they will calm down and we will see our investments payoff. But how long?? when?? Nobody knows this.. If you are young, stick it out, you are old? pull it out.. There's no answer..  I am also on the fence, I am older in my 60's and I am right on the line of being young enough to hold on but too old to hold on for very much longer..  

Our stockman is going to sell some and convert it to cash -right now a lot of our portfolio is cash. Husband  thinks it's an alright thing now. What do YOU three think?

Anyway we play it, it scares me.
