    Do the copies of the earliest texts of the Torah show the center character of each line and center character of a page at the side of the text for use in verifying the accuracy of the copy?

    I had heard this long ago but cannot find any web references to this practice. Thanks for your time in this matter. Richard Trantow

    There are so many editions of the Bible, one of them probably had the sidebar names, but no - that's not a traditional practice, just a publisher's choice.
