Take him/her on a vacation to Iran, Pakistan, Yemen, Palestine, Indonesia, or just about any Muslim dominated area in the world, and let him/her see for him/herself how they live. If he or she feels the same way, after the vacation, you're going to have to let him/her make their own decision. But I think it would be worth the money and time, it's your child.
No. I'm pretty sure that King Midas is just a Greek Myth. There is one king in the Bible who had more gold then all others, King Solomon. He is the Son of King David and Bathsheba. His story is very interesting, so is the story of King David and King Saul and many others. There have been some movies, but the movie directors/actors and so on seldom stay true to the original. And it's really unfortunate, because they are awesome stories that don't need to be altered to entertain and enlighten.
I agree with you! It goes against Christianity to make such an offensive spectacle. The Pastor was wrong. On the other hand, addressing the response from the Muslims, wow! So someone burns a Bible, I've got my own. If he burns my Bible, I know where the book store is. Vengeance is mine sayeth the mob or the Pastor, who had no business performing the execution.
Just as a side not Colleen, it is my opinion that evil men performed the crusades and not the Bible, much the same as the Pastor performed the execution of a Koran and not the Bible. The Bible bids us to live peaceably with all men. If men actually lived up to the counsel in the Bible the Crusades wouldn't have happened, nor much of what is done bearing the name of Christianity.
A debt of gratitude for showing the US how fortunate we are to have separation of church and state.
I don't go to church or believe in organized religion.
Jesus came from everlasting, in other words, He has always existed, except for His three day stint with death. He was/is co-creator of the world and everything in it. He was/is "I am", which means He met with Moses more than a thousand years before His sacrificial death. He is the law maker/giver, only He can provide forgiveness of sins. He bore guilt/reward of the sins that we deserve so that we might live eternal life that He deserves. Could go on, study your Bible, everything else is speculation.
No. It's a combination of US-Christianity, Catholicism and Spiritualism. The world will bow to this false trinity.
They believe god is setting up his government on this earth through their denomination. So one of these days we may wake up to a coup d'etat.
It is silly for a number of reasons, number one of which is that Christ said His Kingdom is not of this world, and yes Christ is God. Another reason is because Christ nullified His theocracy when He told the Jews, this day your house is left unto you desolate. From then on Christ would be the Head of His church (not a governmental entity). His church would be identifiable because of the fruits of it's members. They would have the gifts and fruits of the Spirit; wisdom, understanding, healing, giving, teaching, love, joy, gentleness, goodness, faith, patience and so on. Christ would write His laws in their heart. The Bible, as it is written, would be their guide.
The Bible, as quoted above is clear. I don't know how anyone could deny teachings that are so obvious. But I don't know what you mean when you ask if a Christian should accept lesbians. My own personal experience is that if you want to win a person over then you must love them unconditionally. That means that you love them knowing that you may never win them over. The battle that exists, the spiritual battle for souls, exists only because God will not force anyone to serve Him. He could have forced Satan, He could have forced Adam and Eve.
Why does everyone, without discrimination, think they are always right all the time? I believe in the Bible, but not institutional religion. There are several hundred Christian denominations in the US, because we (believer's) have our own opinions. So I agree with you in one respect, but it goes a lot further then to stereotype Christians as if you don't have your own strong opinions.
