I don't want to be like the noachians and scoff a Christian for sounding an alarm. But there are prophesies yet to be fulfilled along with the Bible proclamation that no one knows the day or the hour. I do believe that we are living in the last days. However, I think Camping is setting himself up along with Christianity in general, to be scoffed, when it doesn't happen as predicted.
Should be in both!
Continued- I'm not a fan of Obama, but if we follow the austerity measures of the Republicans there will be civil unrest, anarchy. We need regulation, we need capital and we need to tax the wealthy. Trickle down does not work, unless it is trickling down to US citizens, and it seems that it is trickling down to everyone but US citizens. I don't know if the democrats are the lesser of the evils. I'm an Independent myself. But clearly, Obama is not at fault for the existing problems, though I don't know of anyone who could get us out of this mess.
The Republican party and especially the tea party are trying to pass austerity measures in the Federal budget. They also want to make Bushes tax cut's for the wealthy permanent. Under policy that date way before Obama, we have switched from Capitalists to consumerists. Because of deregulation our banks went under and Bush then Obama decided to bail them out. Deregulation allows for banks to make risky speculative movements, and when they take huge losses, they still get bonuses and citizens get shafted. Glenn Beck I heard say that high gas prices are good for the economy, yes well if you are a spot market speculator, sure. But the rest of us have to fill our tanks, and every purchase we make is effected by high shipping costs.
God's great command is to love the Lord with all you heart, mind soul and strength. The first four of the Ten Commandments show us how to demonstrate our love for Him; the second great commandment is love your neighbor as yourself and the last six explain how we are to demonstrate our love for everyone. So no I don't believe in picking and choosing. Either you love God or you don't. Either you love humanity or you don't. Either you have Christ in you or you don't. Either you walk according to the Spirit or the flesh.
I think there are too many people on the planet, although I'm glad I'm here. I think that most people now days have to be motivated to love. I hope you don't mind me mentioning the Bible just assume that if it's me writing then there is probably going to be something from the Bible and then you can skip me if you like. Anyway, the Bible is clear that in near the end because iniquity abounds the love of many will grow cold, and unfortunately that is true of people religious or not. But God gave two great commands, Love Him foremost and your neighbor as yourself. If those commands were to be followed we'd love each other, and you'd accept me as I am, and I'd accept you as you are. I'm willing, I try.
If you have children, wouldn't you love it if they honored you?
Don't you wish that everyone, perhaps especially the religious, would not kill?
I'll bet you were happy when you found out your true love was lovin someone else?
How about stealing, perhaps you like to steal, but I bet you don't like it when someone steals from you?
What about lying? Seems like everybody does it, I think it is a requirement in politics and law, but doesn't it piss you off?
How about they way some people make you uncomfortable by the way they check out your goods? Makes you go out and purchase a gun you didn't want, start locking all the doors of your house and car? Convinces you to tell your wife and daughter to start dressing differently and come straight in the house instead of lingering out front?
No one here like Gods laws of love?
I guess I'm another cave dweller. Carbon dating is based upon assumptions that cannot be verified. I wasn't there so I'm going with the Bible account rather than 21st century man. Around 6000 years old.
God has given every person a measure of faith. Some choose to have faith in men through science so-called. I took biology last year and got an A. My teacher has a lot of faith in evolution and the non-existence of God. We agreed to disagree, and became pals. In the end, if she is right, what have I lost out on? If she is wrong, what has she lost out on?
The Bible isn't false but people are willing to risk that it is, for the same reason that Jesus was mocked, beaten, betrayed and murdered by the people He came to save. They wanted something different, they wanted and earthly king that would set them up as His governor's. Kind of like the JW's. They didn't want a humble servant of men; saying, sell what you have, give the money to the poor and come and follow me, you'll have treasure in heaven. Human beings want their treasure in this life, except for the Muslim's who are willing to give up this life for the desire of virgins in heaven.
