I have replace the Regulator and Magneto on my 16 HP B&S Model 280000. It still dies when hot and backfires. It will not evn turn over until it cools down. Can you identify the problem?

The engine is getting too hot and will eventually destroy itself. You need to remove the shroud (metal housing with screen attached to it) and clean out all debris from cooling fins around the cylinder(s).
