Actually, according to my dad Brian Jones started the group by placing an ad in the paper. He wanted a band that didn't have to play Chuck Berry. After Mick and Keith auditioned Brian was impressed but almost told them "no" because he didn't want to play Berry's hits all the time. Mick told Brian that he wouldn't be interested unless Keith joined and kEITH wouldn't unless he could play Chuck. Brian relented and a legend was born.
