The Rolling Stones are an English rock band, formed in London in April 1962 by Brian Jones (guitar, harmonica), Ian Stewart (piano), Mick Jagger (lead vocals, harmonica), and Keith Richards (guitar, vocals). Bassist Bill Wyman and drummer Charlie Watts completed the early line-up.

Mick Jagger and Keith Richards met on the Bus and thats how they first got together. Best group of the 60's and still going strong, little red rooster.

Actually, according to my dad Brian Jones started the group by placing an ad in the paper. He wanted a band that didn't have to play Chuck Berry. After Mick and Keith auditioned Brian was impressed but almost told them "no" because he didn't want to play Berry's hits all the time. Mick told Brian that he wouldn't be interested unless Keith joined and kEITH wouldn't unless he could play Chuck. Brian relented and a legend was born.

I've also heard that Brian Jones was the originator. Then the others eventually wanted to squeeze him out as he was going in a different musical direction and then the rumours began that Mick had him drowned! Ridiculous.
