1/5+1/3 x 1/4

= 1/5 + 1/12

= [ 1 × 12 ] / [ 5 × 12] + [ 1 × 5 ] / [ 12 × 5 ] [ L.C.M of 5 & 12 is  5 × 12 = 60 ]

= 12/60 + 5/60

= [ 12 + 5 ] / 60 [ Addition of numerator since the denominator is same]

= 17/60

Find (a) the slope of the given equation: 2y=x+4
Answers: 2 Views: 954 Rating: 0 Posted: 12 years ago

2y=x+4

i.e. y = 1/2 x + 4/2

i.e. y = 1/2  x + 2

Comparing to the form y = mx +c , where m = slope of the line & c = y - intercept

So, slope (m) = 1/2
