I used to watch the migration of birds every year. This year my birds disappeared in April. They came back in July and are gone again . Even all the squirrels are gone. There is something happening here. It could be predators like Hawks, Eagles or Fisher cats or some enviromental problem. I had alot of crows until 2 weeks ago, they are also gone.

    what are fisher cats?

Fisher cats are from the Weasel family. Theire coat is dark brown w. black tail and feet. They are 29-48 inches long and weight up to 15 pounds. They are nocturnal. Theire cry is very eerie. It sounds like a child in severe pain. One of those killed my cat years ago. Our cat comes in at four in the afternoon and does not go out until 8-9 am.Fisher cats can climb trees faster than a squirrel and can jump from tree to tree.

what amazes me the most is how they fly in almost perfect formation.. it tells me that god made no mistakes....

Tells me that they read currents well, just like a school of fish that will turn simultaneously--

The birds are disappearing in N. California. Less and less ducks and geese. Blue jays attack all other nesting birds and throw their eggs out . Chicken eggs are carried off by jays so I had to make the access to nesting areas difficult for the jays to get to. I may have to set up a computer to face recognize jays and trap them electronically.

I think the migration of the cuckoo is quite amazing. The adult bird lays its egg in another bird's nest, leaves and flies off to its winter quarters. How does it know how to navigate when it had no contact with the parent bird?

I see geese and sandhill cranes cranes fly so high you can barely see them but you can hear their calls.  humming birds migrate by instinct and as the days get shorter they will be going. I will miss them

i,m afraid where i live there is no snow nor ice , consequently there is no bird migrations. if they did fly south for the winter they would end up in Antarctica.

same, though it would be a great thing to watch

Just the seagulls that come inland during the rain season and poop mangled crustaceans on my car .. I watch them pretty close..  Seagull Crustacean poop can ruin a paintjob.

yes they are enjoyable to watch

The region where I lived is now full of buildings.

And I merely remember the migration of birds in our region, from my childhood memories.

For my recreation, sometimes I visit the zoo with my friends to view the natural scenery & on a daily basis I visit the parks around the place.
