My nine year old cat has started soiling in the house, can anyone think why?

Visited vet today and you were right Yvonne. He has an infection, so is being treated with antibiotics, I have just pushed todays dose down his throat! He was very good about it so I'm hopeful that he will soon be back to his happy normal self.
