Visited vet today and you were right Yvonne. He has an infection, so is being treated with antibiotics, I have just pushed todays dose down his throat! He was very good about it so I'm hopeful that he will soon be back to his happy normal self.

I'm glad you got the problem resolved! When cats avoid their litter box, it's usually because they're having pain upon urination. They associate their litter box with the pain, so to avoid the pain, they avoid their litter box. We had the same problem with one of ours a few weeks ago. We were given the option of getting her an antibiotic shot (for an extra $20) rather than going their the anguish of pilling her twice a day for 2 weeks. She was back to her Tazmaninan-devil self in less than a week.
Poobar - I am so glad she is feeling better. Just imagine running around with a urinary infection and not being able to tell anyone. You are a good cat mommy. Now she has many more lives to live.
Thanks for your concern Yvonne, I am taking him to the vet this morning. Regards Poobar

Sounds like a urinary tract infection. Antibiotics should clear it up. Worse case, a kidney problem. I'm going to go with a UTI though.
