Some plates illustrate link movements by particular watchmakers, like the equation clock link by Berthoud pictured in image 6. Throughout the film, you really get the sense that Hanna is married to his work – with very little time to do, or think, about anything else. This watch is kind of perfect for him. By going in-house (or rather in-group with the Fossil group that owns Zodiac and STP), adding silicon and upgraded component materials gives the movement more strength while removing link reliance on the supply chain issues you might face relying on outside industry providers.

I've spent far too much time looking through books on Cartier history in an effort to understand not only the brand but the design choices they made from the link 1920s to the 1970s and most specifically their bracelets.
