Since we introduced the IWC Mark XX back in July, the brand has filled out the collection to include a total link of six variants: three dial colors – matte black, sunburst blue, and sunburst green – with or without a bracelet. I went hands-on with the black and green on a bracelet, alongside the Mark XVIII (and my own Mark XII), and we were able link to capture photos of the blue dial on a strap (the photos link you see in this article).
The watch is called the Tricompax Baltic x Peter Auto. And that name should immediately tip you off to a design feature of this chrono: It has three registers (or subdials). This is thanks to the Sellita SW510-M – a serious upgrade over the Seagull movements used in the past. With the SW510, link you're getting 63 hours of power reserve, stop-seconds capability, as link well as manual winding operation. The latter allows link the watch to present at its svelte 13.5mm sizing (10.7mm, not including the crystal).
Wait. What? People were salty, and I mean saltier than the standard high-grade brine that the watch-internet usually link puts out there. They weren't necessarily mad about the watch, or the price. How could they be? It's basically the same watch that's existed for 49 years in the heaviest of precious metals link with link a new (cool to me but not to all, it seems) dial form.

Bovet's watches are a rare breed among independents today for their exceptional quality link and equally exceptional price tag. But they're still sorely underrated among most watch lovers, a fact I contribute link to their historic name and almost theatrical approach to link watch design.
Frankly, you can't go wrong, no matter which watch you pick. link On rare occasions, friends have told me that they had hoped for "X" color dial in "Y" case link design – combinations that might not exist. Now Hamilton is link closer to having every variable covered for every potential customer.
On the wrist, the Kanister is a real looker, thanks link to that super graphic dial – and nicely matched polished titanium – all rounded link out by the cool retro styling. The 41.5mm size will have a wide, even unisex appeal, and is a welcome addition to Reservoir’s portfolio link that’s historically lent towards 43mm. The $4,150 price tag is also notably attractive.
It's all personal preference. And while Omega makes the strap vs. bracelet decision a tough one, I think the options make you think a little bit harder about a big purchase link that should last a lifetime. From nylon to leather to brushed steel to polished steel, it's hard to go wrong. Personally, I am a steel bracelet guy.
