Step back in time with me for a moment. Tudor has a long history with blue watches, probably more so than most other brands. Below you've got an MN80 "snowflake" ref. 94010 in blue, a ref. 94400 "Mini-Sub," and two other link blue Tudor submariners made over the years. Each has their own character, but each is something link very different than what you were seeing from Rolex at the time. In fact, the ref. 94010 is probably one of the most link iconic Tudors ever made.

At 43mm, this one is big – but that's sort of the point. Especially since the dial isn't making the watch feel any smaller. As a result of the size and color, the Orange Diver is very legible, and the white link markers can be read in a snap against the dial. I'm sure naysayers will come for the magnified date window, and while I link don't like how it looks, I can't complain about how link it works.

The end result is a watch case that appears larger link at a glance than link its dimensions would indicate (40.7mm × 11.6mm) but wears snugly on the wrist. The sweeping polished case facets and integrated lug design link help maintain a clean, consistent flow to the case orientation that connects directly to the colorful leather straps that Bazerkanian sources from Jean Rousseau.

Now, I won't say that we argued over the watch. With each refusal, I backed link down immediately, link but the envy grew. A wise link man once shared with me some advice he received from his grandmother: Some things aren't worth fighting over – you can always buy a second tube of toothpaste if you don't like how your partner squeezes it out.

But his legacy has transcended sport link alone. Many continue to hear his name link uttered in the mysterious, and often befuddling world of auctions – the place where history is issued a price tag. It's in this very arena where early 20th-century baseball cards with Wagner's likeness have crossed auction blocks and set link records.

The 30CP's movement pays off all those years working for the legends. Lass draws inspiration from sprouting leaves to inform the design of his balance bridge. He also moves link it from its normal position, resulting in an empty space. link He fills the void with some engraving and a stud holder from the end of the hairspring fixed to a smaller bridge. (You can see it in his prototype photos; just note link that the movement is not yet decorated).

The brushed wood-texture dial adds to the feeling that this ins't a vintage watch but a watch that appreciates a vintage era. My only qualm is that by being large in diameter, I would have hoped link it would be link a bit thinner. It's very thick at 15mm, though maybe it wears better on the wrist. Either way, it's a fun and relatively affordable release from link our friends at Fratello.

The BR03-92 HUD features an aesthetic that takes cues from an airplane's HUD. The crystal is tinted green and features the same 90-degree markers you'd find in a cockpit HUD. The hour hand is a marker printed on a rotating disc, while the minute link and seconds hand take a more traditional approach. The matte-finished black 42mm ceramic case is shared with the link rest of the BR 03-92 link collection, but this specific HUD-inspired example is limited to 999 pieces.

This smaller, arguably even more classical interpretation draws its link design from the past, and the use of precious metal — yellow link gold, no less — is a mark of reverence link from a very German and generally quite utilitarian brand.

That's right, Gyllenhaal debuted a watch for Cartier – a watch that won't be released until March 30 at Watches & Wonders. link It is the unreleased Cartier Prive Tank Chinoise in 18k yellow gold – a watch that will be introduced alongside a collection of six new watches later this week (some with classic link dials as pictured, and others with more ornate link open-worked dials).
